Planning note
From roughly June to September, daytime temperatures in Dubai are very high and humidity can be uncomfortable. Many visitors still enjoy the season because attractions are less crowded and hotel prices are often lower. The key is planning your day around the heat.
Practical guide
Plan your day around the temperature
Do outdoor activities early in the morning or after sunset, and spend the middle of the day indoors. Malls, museums, aquariums and indoor attractions are comfortable options, and many visitors use that time for a long lunch or a rest at the hotel.
Protect your health
Drink water regularly, even if you do not feel thirsty. Wear light clothes, a hat and sunglasses and apply sunscreen often. Know the signs of heat exhaustion, such as heavy sweating, dizziness, headache, nausea and weakness. If you feel unwell, move somewhere cool, drink fluids and seek medical help if symptoms do not improve quickly.
Children, older adults and people with medical conditions are more vulnerable to heat. Ask a doctor for advice before you travel if you are unsure.
Water attractions and beaches
Waterparks and pools are popular in summer, but the water and surfaces can be hot. Go early, bring water shoes if the park allows them and follow staff guidance. Sea water can feel very warm, so it may not cool you as much as you expect.
Desert and outdoor tours
Operators adjust schedules and may offer evening departures in summer. Check what is included, how long you will be outdoors and what safety measures apply. Follow your guide's instructions about water and sun protection, and reconsider strenuous activities in the hottest months.
Make the most of low season
Hotels often reduce rates, restaurants are quieter and some venues run summer promotions. Compare cancellation policies when you book and confirm that the attractions you want are open on your dates, because some outdoor venues close for the season.
